TCG Interview #83: Tacverse

I spoke with the creator of Tacverse! Here are his answers to my questions:

Q: Please describe your trading card game!
A: Tacverse is a handmade trading card game from Germany. We are all about the community, always making sure to give enough back. I have build a whole system around our cards, each card can be claimed once to receive its rarity value as “TACOINS”. They are Tacverse official currency and can be used to purchase cards, participate in auctions and to buy digital content.  This year we have also released our first two WEB games: FlappTac and Krambee's Journey Water, many more to come..

Q: What inspired you to create your own TCG?
A: I am collecting cards since I'm a little child, always dreamed about creating my own TCG. With the big Indie TCG breakout I couldn't resist to give it a shot.

Q: What TCGs did you grow up playing as a kid?
A: Until 13 I played Pokemon (also did visit tournaments at this age) after a 2 years brake i started to play YuGiOh for about 3 years. Last on the list is Hearthstone for almost 4 years (digital tcg).

Q: What sets Tacverse apart from other TCGs?
A: There really is too much. Probably the only thing we have in common with other TCGs are cards and the card size.

Q: How did you come up with the name Tacverse?
A: Since I named my card collectors/ shop account TAC cards and wanted to create a no limit TCG I come up with Tacverse. (verse like universe, plenty of different planets, creatures, aliens...)

Q: How long have you been working on the game?
A: I shared almost every step of my game on Instagram.  I have been around developing since early 22.

Q: What is the illustration/design process like?
A: Currently it is themed base, for example Halloween/ Christmas... but we try to always give the artists as much freedom as possible. I figured myself that this is how we receive the best quality art.

Q: When will the game officially be released?
A: As soon as we are ready. First we did want to optimise our production process and build a solid community base. Next step is to properly introduce our gameplay with a digital version of our game.

Q: What are your future plans for Tacverse?
A: Continue to release awesome experiences for the community, continue to grow even bigger. We've just started to discover our possibilities with software, more amazing stuff coming soon.. Also I can't wait to host the first TACvention

Q: Will you be at any upcoming conventions?
A: Since we are based in Germany it is a little hard to cover American conventions.. but we figured something cool for everyone. Content creators who are going to visit a convention can apply in our discord to receive their own limited convention promo cards to give away!! This way we have already been part of over 10 conventions around the globe.

Q: Do you have any advice for someone looking to make their own TCG?
A: Just go for it. The experience you are going to earn on your way are worth it anyway. Doesn't matter if u make it or not.

TCG Interview #90: Ward (Part 2)

I did a follow-up interview with Ward TCG, here are their answers to my questions! Q:  What’s new with Ward TCG since our previous interview? A: A lot has happened in the year since our last interview. Ward has hosted a dozen tournaments with great turnouts, lots of action, and many new players.    We have attended several conventions with the most recent being the HUGE Midwest gaming Classic in Milwaukee WI. The original actors from resident Evil 1 video game hung out at our booth for a while and were enamored with Ward.    We are in about 2 dozen stores, including a partnership with a Midwest convenience store chain “Luckey Seven”. They fell in love with Ward and have begun to spread it in their 37 stores across the Midwest.    We were invited to be on several interviews with ABC News. They also loved Ward and wanted to help promote an upcoming tournament we had in Minneapolis MN at that time. Being on Live TV was very nerve racking. We were also hosted by PBS for a short segment cal

TCG Interview #12: Neo Gambit

I spoke with the creator of Neo Gambit- here are his answers to my questions: Q: Please describe your trading card game! A: NeoGambit is a fast paced and easy to play deck building combat TCG. Q: What inspired you to create a TCG? A: This came from a dream. I woke up from a nap and had dreamt of this fun TCG, reminded me of how much fun I had as a kid play card games. As a kid I spent hours playing games, but mostly alone, a lot of rules and effects for cards were off putting to others around me. So from my dream, NeoGambit was birthed. A simple fun TCG that literally anyone can play. Q: What TCGs did you grow up playing as a kid? A: My earliest memories are intertwined with TCGs, there wasn’t a moment in my childhood that I didn’t collect cards. Yugioh and Pokémon have been in my life as long as I can remember. I collected both Pokémon and yugioh for over 15 years. I also collected other TCGs over the years, my favorite being chaotic, I’d say that’s where most inspiration for the gam
