TCG Interview #59: Pangaea

I spoke with the creator of Pangaea TCG! Here are their answers to my questions: Q: Please describe your trading card game! A: Pangaea TCG is a trading card game, centered around dinosaurs. It’s a 1v1 card game, where each player chooses a Legendary Dinosaur (also your decks health points) - each of which, has a board buff. They then battle each other, combining dinosaur abilities, action cards and game changing event cards, to become the Top Legend. The game combines a level of fantasy to tell stories based around scientific facts and the fossil discoveries of today.  Q: What inspired you to create your own TCG? A: I am a huge Paleo-nerd. I have considered even going back to school for Paleontology. When I was a kid, my first choice wasn’t Pokémon cards… I wanted dinosaur cards, but there weren’t any on the market. The idea came to me last year when rediscovered my love for Dinosaurs and this began my passion project, Pangaea.  Q: What TCGs did you grow up playing as a kid? A...

I spoke with the creator of Soul-Gates! Here are his answers to my questions: Q: Please describe your trading card game! A: Soul-Gates is a strategic tactical card game played on a grid and features a unique way to play your cards. You embody one of the five Emperors and fight to see who will reign over the realm. Q: What inspired you to create your own TCG? A: I always loved playing card games and tabletop games as long as I can remember. The urge to share these games with my family lead to me making them myself at home with only scissors, pens and used papers. Through the years I made a lot of games that way and also started to create my own games and shared them with my little cousins and friends. Unfortunately that kind of stopped when I got busy with university and work. During Covid, when one was forced to stay ...

A:  Creatures of Exo is a combination of various TCGs, along with some original ideas. The best part is how the resources work. I wanted to create something that was 1vs1 competitive and smooth like Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic, but with its own unique way of managing resources, as many TCGs have c...
