TCG Community Interview #4: @randomswitchgamer

I spoke with @randomswitchgamer, a member of the TCG community! Here are his answers to my questions! Q: What was the first TCG you ever collected or played? A:  It's really hard to remember that far back, I know I was very young...I know I had Pokemon cards at some point, but I don't really remember when exactly...but I'm sure at that age anyway I wasn't playing Pokemon, I probably just had some cards cause someone in the family knew I loved the Gen 1 games...I do remember two instances as a kid of having TCGs One being Yu-Gi-Oh cards and playing them with my brother and best friend from like 3rd or 4th grade (so I must have been around 7-9 years old depending on that specific time frame) and heading over to his place and him and his neighbor had cards and we would just build decks and play and learn that way...I remember having my own set of cards and one day losing them at a church we went to one time and I don't really remember what was in that stack other than ...

TCG Interview #65: Rise

I spoke with the creator of Rise! Here are his answers to my questions: Q: Please describe your trading card game! A: Rise is a battle between Summoners in an organic, fantasy-themed game, utilizing ethereal Doors to access a multiverse of Imminent spells, Incantations, and Creatures. It plays similar to games like Magic the Gathering, Metazoo, and Flesh and Blood. It can be played preconstructed, constructed, and/or draft style from solo up to as many players as you like...each player added will increase the time of the game. :) Rise has a fairly low entry threshold with regard to complexity, but the game can ramp to very complex for those Johnny players who love the super combo possibilities.  Q: What inspired you to create your own TCG? A: Francois excelled in the juried fine art world, and he has been an avid gamer and designer for decades. The TCG is an extension of the story of his life and his imagination in art and gameplay. He is the owner, designer, and artist, and ...

TCG Interview #64: Arcanite

I spoke with the creator of Arcanite! Here are his answers to my questions: Q: Please describe your trading card game! A: Arcanite invites you to an immersive journey into a world of magic and mystery. As a powerful mage, you'll harness the energy of "Arcanites", magical crystals embodied as playing cards, to cast spells, wield legendary artifacts and summon creatures in exhilarating duels.  Arcanite has life decking, but with a twist: suspended cards can be used for late game comebacks. Thanks to its dynamic resource management and unique void mechanics no two games feel the same. Q: What inspired you to create your own TCG? A: I have a big love for TCG's and it’s very nostalgic to me. For me it is all about the customization. It's fascinating how a deck of cards can reflect a person. So gameplay first, collectability second. With Arcanite I want to revive the nostalgic feelings I had and I want to cheer the fun of the genre to other people. Q: What TCGs did you...

The game is set in a fantasy world filled with deep lore, mythical creatures, and powerful magic. Each card represents a character, equipment, or spell that can be used in battle. Q: What inspired you to create your own TCG? A: I've always been a fan of trading card games since I was a kid. The strategy, the artwork, the thrill of opening a new pack of cards - it all fascinated me. As I grew older, I realized that I wanted to create my own game that combined all the elements I loved from different TCGs, but also had its own unique twist. More recently, some mainstream TCGs really upset me as a heavily invested collector...T...
