TCG Interview #77: Sacred Realms

I spoke with the creator of Sacred Realms! Here are his answers to my questions: Q: Please describe your trading card game! A:  Sacred Realms is a groundbreaking trading card game that takes the genre to a whole new level. Imagine a game where every turn is filled with suspense and unpredictability. That's exactly what Sacred Realms offers with its ingenious use of a D20 dice. On each turn, players must roll the dice to determine the fate of their cards. Will a lucky roll activate powerful abilities? Or will a bad roll lead to unexpected consequences? The thrill of the dice roll adds a unique and exciting element to the gameplay, making every match a thrilling experience. Q: What inspired you to create your own TCG? A: The inspiration behind creating my own trading card game, Sacred Realms, was born out of a simple hobby that quickly transformed into a deep passion. As I worked on the game, I found myself constantly exploring new ideas, refining mechanics, and designing captivating

TCG Interview #76: Comic Wars

I spoke with the creator of Comic Wars! Here are his answers to my questions: Q: Please describe your trading card game! A: The Comic Wars Trading Card Game is designed to be like a retro fighting game just without all of the buttons or joystick. Players pick the Character that they want to fight as, build a deck that matches their play style, and battle against at least one other player. Q: What inspired you to create your own TCG? A: As a kid, my friends and I created dozens of different games, but our TCGs were the longest lasting by far. Q: What TCGs did you grow up playing as a kid? A: I mostly played Yu-Gi-Oh!, but I dabbled in Magic the Gathering and Pokemon. Q: What sets Comic Wars apart from other TCGs? ECG interview #2: PotionSlingers

I spoke with Anthony Fasano, the creator of PotionSlingers! Here are his answers to my questions: Q: Please describe your card game! A: PotionSlingers is a deck building, card comboing BREW-HA-HA! Players each pick a two-sided character, each with their own deckbuilding themes and abilities, then buy cards from a shared market; slinging potions and accruing magical junkyard objects until their well laid out plans snowball into efficient card combinations! Win the game by eliminating your opponents, or by collecting the most Essence cubes!   Q: What inspired you to create a card game? A: I failed at developing a videogame for over a year, so I scrapped 90% of my resources to regroup, and kept all of the worldbuilding, characters, and lore. Then I tried to make another videogame and failed that too! So I scrapped 90% of my resources, regrouped again, and sat long and hard on how easy it is to let scope creep move the goal posts impossibly far away! I do all of the art, but didn't wan

TCG Interview #75: Galaxy Beasts

I spoke with the creator of Galaxy Beasts! Here are his answers to my questions: Q: Please describe your trading card game! A: Galaxy Beasts is a collectible card game between two players. In the game, each player builds an "army", using various creatures and beasts, which are divided into offensive and defensive positions. The aim of the game is to destroy your opponent's crystal of life and at the same time defend your own. Q: What inspired you to create your own TCG? A: As children, my best friend and I made various comics from our own fantasy world. When I was about 8 years old, we got pokemon cards and it was from this that I got the idea to make my own cards. So they had no game potential, they were just pictures on a cut out square of paper. Q: What TCGs did you grow up playing as a kid? A: As a child, I got my hands on a few card games. Which include Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh or various football cards. However, I never played the card game itself, at least not according t

TCG Interview #74: Ward

I spoke to the creators of WARD! Here are their answers to my questions:  Q: Please describe your trading card game! A: Ward is a trading card game that blends aspects from other popular TCGs like Pokemon, Yugioh, and Magic: The Gathering, but adds a Dungeons and Dragons style, dice rolling, battle system. We then simplified all aspects/systems so anyone can learn how to play with ease. Q: What inspired you to create your own TCG? A: Ward was inspired by creator Joe Casey when he decided to buy a few packs of a new card game (We will not say which). He had always loved card games of any type, Pokemon, Yugioh, Magic, Cribbage, Poker, and so many more. He brought the packs home, opened them up and read the rules in order to play it. For several hours, he and another future Ward associate, could not figure out the rules or general layout of playing the game. YouTube videos did not explain it well either. Eventually, they gave up and moved on. The idea for Ward was not created on this day,
