A: I've been an avid player of TCGs for over a decade. I've always been interested in the Create-a-Card subculture for whatever game I was playing at the time, so this just felt like a natural advancement of that. What really pushed me to take the leap into designing my own game was that my friend group had been out of the TCG scene for a while and we were all itching to play something, but didn't have any real interest in the popular games at the time. Q: What TCGs did you grow up playing as

TCG Interview #4: Primal

I spoke with Claudio, the creator of Primal TCG. Here are his answers to my questions: Q: Please describe your trading card game! A: Primal is a turn based team building game you play against an opponent. You win by attacking your opponent directly and inflicting them 10 direct damage. The more turns pass by the stronger the characters and strategies you can put in play. The most exciting part of the game is when the characters start using Ability cards to get an advantage on the opponent, that will determine who takes the win. It’s fun battling with your opponent and they are responding to your ability cards with their own.  Q: What inspired you to create a TCG? A: Well the gameplay that Primal uses came from an older game, the Naruto card game. I really loved that game and was upset to see it stop being supported. Even after it stopped being supported by Bandai people played it and made their own fan made cards and fan tournaments. That showed me that I wasn’t the only one that miss

A: What inspired me to create a tcg was my love for rpg video games and trading card games like yugioh and mtg. I want to mix elements of rpg games with tcgs but also have players color their cards so that no one player has a card that looks the same. Q: What TCGs did you grow up playing as a kid? A: I grew up mostly playing yugioh. Yugioh had the biggest influence on me as a kid even into adulthood and is what mostly inspired me to create this game  Q: What sets Forsaken Souls apart from other TCGs? A: I was inspired after wanting to originally make a fighting game with a big roster of bombastic characters that were all unique, spoke different languages and really push the world to a more accepting and open place.
